As I wrote last blog, I'm going to stay in America in this summer. So I read this book to know American life.
In university, I study about America. America has many its histories. There are good and bad points in there.
In this book, I was interested about the race problem. There are many kind of people in America, White, African American, Hispanic, Asian and so on. And there are differance of salary between White and black, men and wemen, the book showed. I have some doubts about it. Also in Japan, this problem is. It's one of big problem, I think.
This summer, I'll experience real America. Going to America was my dream since my childhood. So I want to do my best, and I want to learn many things.

The Blue Sky & The Breeze

This morning, I woke up at 10:00 a.m. because it's Sunday!!
Last night, I went to a restaurant with fellow workers at my part job from 0:00 a.m. Because we finished our job at 0:00. They hold a meeting for me, I'll resign from my job.
So I woke up such a time. In this morning, I was waken up by a breeze.
As I wrote last blog, there is a bow window in my room, and I love it. From there, a breeze was flawing, and I could a blue sky.
I love a blue sky. When I was sad or in low sprits, if we look up a blue sky, we'll be fine. And if the breeze flow, we'll relax.
I'm very busy recently, and I'm very tired. So I was in low spirits...
BUT, this morning, I became very happy for the blue sky and the breeze!!
I realized everybody has bad days. So I don't need to worry.
I must do I can now. I thought such a thing in this morning (^^)

Rich Man, Poor Man

Today, I read this book, Rich Man, Poor Man. While I was reading this book, I was very sad.
Have you read this? This story is about a poor man. He lives in a village far from a town. In his childhood, there weren't a school in the village, so he couldn't write or read. His only son works in a foreigne country. And his son gave a money order by his salary. So poor man, old man went to the town to change money. Then in the town, his ignorance caused many problems.

When I was reading this, I thought a ignorance caused gap.
In this world, I can say such a thing. For example, there is the North-South problem. The ignorant people can't live for the ignorant. If there are schools, people may live. If people know about sick, people may live.


Now, rich people have an advantage over poor people. But I don't think money is the most important thing. But in the real life, it isn't so. I think people must think about this problem.

This Summer

Recently, summer is coming, I feel. This morning, I heard the chirp of a cicada. I like summer. In this summer, I have a kaigai-kensyuu. I'm looking forward to staying America. As I wrote last time, I'll stay at good family. They are a family of five, a father, a mother and three girls. The girls are 3, 4 and 5 years old. I don't have younger sisters, so I'm happy for having host younger sisters. The other day, I went to shop to buy somethings for them. I wanted to buy jinbei for girls. A Midsummer Night's Dream

I read this book, A Midsummer Night's Dream. To tell the truth, this book is little difficult for me. Because there are many people in this book and they are each important person. But I managed to read it. William Shakespeare wrote this. After reading, my image of him was changed because I thought he was a tragic writer. His literary, Romeo and Juliet is nery tragic story. But this literary is comedy, so I enjoyed while I was reading. Of course, I like Romeo and Juliet, too.
This story is about marriages. There are some problems about marriages. In ancient, there are political marriages. I don't think it's good. And the political marriages are the cause of problems.
This story is very exciting!! But I couldn't understand very well... So I'll watch the movie, A Midsummer Night's Dream (^^)

Someone followed me!!

The other day, I went on foot to my part job. I hurried there because I had no time by starting my job. I ran very hard. I ran and ran... But someone was following me, I noticed. What's!? I thought. And I looked back at the someone. It was.......... a DOG!!!! Moreover, it was so cute Chihuahua (^^)I love dog, so I tried to touch him. But when I looked back, he turned. I was so sad. But I couldn't run afterhim because I had no time. So I began to run again. Then he began to folllow me again. So I also tried to touch. But he ran away as a short time ago. So I began to hurried my part job. But he followed me again!! After all, I couldn't touch him!!!!

Summer Vacation Plans

I'll go America for a month. I'll stay at home in Minnesota. A family I'll stay is very good family. They are a family of five, a father, a mother and three daughters. The girls are three, four and five years old. I was given some pictures. They are so cute!! They like to swim, and I like, too. So I'll swim with them. In Minnesota, there are many lakes. The family also live by a lake. So we can visit some lakes, my host father said. I'm looking forward to visiting there. I want to become proficient in English this summer.

My Introduction

Hi, I'm Yohko.  I'm 29 years old now. I'm enjoying my life, I married my best partner, and I work very hard.

When I was 19 years old, I wanted to get a job as a tour conductor. So I studied English and about traveling very much.

And at last, my dream came true when I was 23 years old. Then I guide many countries. And when I was a university student, I wanted to travel around the world. And this dream also came true!! Four years ago, I was traveling around the world with my present husband. He is kind and reliable. We get along very well. So I love him (^^)

 

We have a three children, a elder brother and a younger twin sisters. A boy is 3 years old, and twin girls are 1 years old. They are naughty children, but kind boy and girls. I wish they grow good boy and girls.

Now I live a full life with my love husband and children. And my parents and elder sister are fine!! Of course, my dog, May, too. She is 15 years old now. She is so old dog, but she is fine. My father takes May out for a walk everyday as 10 years ago.

 

I have a dream now. After my children marry, I and my husband will live in another country. I don't decide which countries yet. But I want to live in wonderful nature. I wish my dream come true.

All about my keitai

I'll introduce about my keitai. My keitai is white color because I like white. And my keitai is simple, I don't paste seal on keitai. And I don't fix many charms, I fix one charm, it's my favorite charm. I bought this charm when I went to Universal Studio Japan. It's SNOOPY's charm.

I have been using my keitai since I was freshman. So my keitai is one years old now. I like it. Its screen is a picture that favorite painter painted. Its picture is little odd dog. This dog appears in a French movie, Amelie. Do you know Amelie? Do you know its picture?

I read this book, Stories of Princes and Princesses. There are four stories about Princes and Princesses in this book. My best favorite story is fast one, The clumsy prince. Colin is very clumsy prince. And a princess fell in love with him, but his father didn't allow their marriage. He tried to pass test her father gave. But he didn't pass any test. One day, he helped the worrying princes. And her father allowed their marriage!!

I like this story because I can feel their love. The prince was so clumsy, but the princess loves such him even if her father didn't allow them. I want to love someone such them!! It's wonderful love, I think.

A Christmas Carol

Hello!! I read "A Christmas Carol" in Japanese recently. Because I must read five books for English literature class(英文学概論). I like to read book, so I enjoy this class.
The other day, I read "A Christmas Carol" in English as Book Review. Then this story became my favorite book. I like this story. Christmas makes everyone happy, I believe.


Scrooge is hero in this story. He is so ill-natured man. So he has no friends, he is always lonely.

One Christmas Eve's night, one ghost appeared in front of him. The ghost was his old friend, and he said that three ghost will appear in front of Scrooge. As he said, each three ghosts appeared, and they guided some Christmas nights. In there, Scrooge remembered some his past, sad past. Then he recognized that he was so ill-natured man, and he decided to change your mind.
Lastly, he spend best Christmas day in his life!!

I read "SPECIAL GIFTS". Have you read this? This story is about three girls, Lily, Rosie and Tess. Lily and Rosie are sister, Tess is their cousin. They are sharing Aunt Lucy's attic while their parents tour the world for a year. They are as thick as thieves. One winter day, they visit Mrs. White who is a old woman to learn sew. Then they spend good winter days. And their aunt's boy friend spend good days with them!!

When I read this book, I wanna spend my childhood again.
They look so enjoyable!! This summer, I'll visit America for kaigai-kensyuu. And in there, I'll stay at my host family. My host parents have three daughters. They are so young, 3, 4 and 5 years old. So when I read this book, I wanna visit there as early as possible I can!!I think they are a thick as thieves like this cousins. In this book, they are enjoying their childhood. Now I'm 19 years old, I'm very busy. Of course, I'm enjoying this time. But I have many things I must do. So I can't spend my time like my childhood. In my childhood, I was enjoying to play. I usually played with doll. It was very fun!!
Reading this book made me look back my childhood.

I read this book, Sara Says No!. Have you read? I chose this book because I like this cover. This story is about a honest girl, Sara. She works at his father's shop, MISTER FRUIT. As shop's name, his father runs his fruit shop. His way of business is bad and he is cheating his customers, Sara thinks. So Sara says him you mustn't cheat. But he is dishonest. Then his way of business is bad, everybody think. One year later, MISTER FRUIT is MISS FRUIT!! Because Sara is honest, She doesn't cheat. She always sells the correct weight. She sells good, fresh fruit. She understands business. His business isn't such her business.
While I was reading this book, I thought that honest person is good person. Now there are many problems in Japan. Some people cheat customers by fake beef and eel. You know? We must not forgive such things. Seller need honesty, I think.

I'll write book review, Two Boyfriends. This week, I read a book, Two Boyfriends. Have you read it? This story is about two boyfriends as its title. There is three people. Anna is a important person in this story. Tim is her boyfriend. He is an honest person, and she thinks that he is a boring boyfriend. But she doesn't want to break up with him till vacation. Because his parents are rich, so she wanted to spend vacation with his family.
But Anna doesn't want to stay with him. A boy suddenly appeared. His name is John. He is cool, and his talking is very interesting. So Anna tried to get his telephone number. But this method didn't work. She lost two boy...

That's unbelievable!! I thought. A her greed caused this result. I think this result is natural. But I think these story cause in our around people. She is so young. So she didn't win her greed. If she become an adult, she'll get really boyfriend. Money means nothing. Of course, we need money. But we need love than money...!! Wao!! I said cool words(*^O^*) I think this is really thing. Tim is rich. John is cool. They may be kind. But Anna couldn't see their kind, she could see their money or looks. Of course, I have my favorite kind of boys!! Everyone is so. Recently, I watch movies on DVDs. You know, I like watching movies very much. Till recently, I didn't have times to watch movies because I was so busy. But I wanted to watch!! The Nutcracker

I read this book, The Nutcracker. I wnder you know this story. In my childhood, I had a picture book, The Nutcracker. This story about a girl, Clara. She was given a wooden nutcracker as a christmas present on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve's night, as she woke up, she was shrinking!! Wao!!!!
And in the world, the Nutcracker could speak. "I'm the Nutcracker Prince." he said. Then he protected Clara, and he guided her the world.

I think the Nutcracker is very cool!! He is a brave soldier and very kind man. But I think he is too old... An illustration in the book, he is described too old man(>ロ<)
My his image is young as old as Clara!! I was disapponted when I saw him...
But he is he!! He is brave, kind and a gentleman!! I wonder Clara might fall in love with him. If I were her, I must fall in love with him. If it's not so, I'll have respect for him.
On the other hand, I wanna visit her visiting places, icy palace and the Land of Sweets. There are very exciting places!! I wanna visit the Land of Sweets especially. And in there, I wanna watch some dancing. These must exciting perfomances. Then I wanna eat many sweets!!

In this Christmas Eve, I may be given present, the Nutcracker by someone!!

A. Christmas Carol

I read a book, A Christmas Carol.
This book is very very famous book. But I haven't ever read it till this time. This time, I read it in English. It's very moving story. In books I have read as book review, I like this book best.

This story is about Scrooge. He wasn't a good man. He didn't like people, and people didn't like him, too. He couldn't care anyone, and nobody could care him.
But in Christmas, three Spirit changed him...

In first, when I read this book, I didn't like him!!
Why he behaves such a thing!? I thought.
He behaved badly to his subordinate, Bob Cratchit and other people.
But I pitied him because he was always lonley.
So I thought, "I wish he becomes to behave well to people!!".
Then I keep on reading this book. And somethings happened. It's good to his character.
So I began to feel so good, changing his character to good.
In finaly, he became to like people, and people became to like him!!
I was so happy as if I was Scrooge!!!!

This time, I read this book as book review. So this book is little brief.
I wanna read this book in Japanese, then I wanna watch this movie!!

WAKE UP, SUN!

I read this book, "WAKE UP, SUN!".
This book is written easy English, so I can read fast.

In this book, there are four animals, a Dog, a Pig, a Cow, a Chicken.
One night, Dog woke up. "It must be time to get up." said Dog. And this words made Pig wake up. Then they wonder about why the sun did't rise yet. They started to look for the sun!! On the way, they met Cow. "We are looking for the sun." said Pig. And Dog, Pig and Cow went to behind the barn. They wondered the sun was hiding there. But there are only Chicken, no the sun. And Dog, Pig, Cow and Chicken started to look for the sun. Then they began to yell. Heard this yell, a farmer wonderd there must be a fox. So he fired his gun.
Heard this gun, farmer's baby woke up and cried!! Then the sun came over the barn at last.
They wonderd the baby woke the sun!! So from that day, they began to play with baby, and they began to give her their milk, eggs.
After all, the knew she was the only one who could wake up the sun!!


After read this book, I became to like this book.
This story is very cute!! Although it was night, they tried the sun to wake up. They yelled very much. At first, Dog yelled. Then Pig, then Cow, then Chicken.
All of them tried the sun wake up. This is very comical!! I wondered why Dog thought the sun didn't rise yet. But I think it is very interesting point in this book.
This is very easy book, so please read this!!

Stranger than Fiction

I watched "Strenger than Fiction".
I have been interested in this movie since the movie was shown for the first time at theater. And I watche it on DVD at last!!

This story is about the man, Harold Clik who spends everyday nothing change.
He is an auditor. So Everydays, he counts all the number of times. For example, he counts times moving his hands when he brushes his teeth. And he counts the number of steps from his house to a bus stop. He is sobriety itself. He wakes up as same times everyday He brushes as same times everyday. He walks to a bus stop as same times everyday. He works as same times everyday. He comes home as same times everyday. He eats dinner(lonley) as same times everyday. He takes a bath as same times everyday. And he goes to bed as same times everyday. He spend everyday nothing change...

BUT!! A problem happened!!
One day, when he brushed his teeth, he heard someone speaking suddenly.
"Who is talking!?" he said. But he couldn't know. This voice spoke to only him, and the voice narrated his action as if he was a hero in fiction.
Every times he actioned, the voice narrated.
And one day, the voice said, "He'll die!!".
Ahter he heard this words, he was anxious about his death. Then he tried to change this fiction to comedy!! So he tried many things he couldn't ever. He tried to play guitar he wanted since his childhood. He tried to enjoy his life. And he fell in love with a woman who lived in different world from him.


This is a story about "Stranger than Fiction".
The man who was sobriety became to change a new parson. And the fiction became to change.
He tried to change his life. I like such a him!!
When he fell in love, a woman didn't like him because he is very very sobriety.
He did only things decided. So she didn't like him. But she became to fall in love with him more and more. Because he became to change his personality. I like this process!! I also became to fall in love with him!!
When I watched this movie, my heart was beating.
"What will it happen!?" I thought.

I Love U.K.

Last Saturday, I watched Sekai Fushigi Hakken on TV. This is a program in Japan. Do you know?
This title means Discovery the Wonders of the World. As this title, it shows the wonders of the world in the program. In this day, it shows United Kingdom, this country I love.
In the program, some women called mystery hunter travel in the world. (In my childhood, I wanted to be a mystery hunter...) And they introduce each country they visited.
This time, a mystery hunter visited Cotswolds in the U.K..

There are many canals because a lot of coals were transported in the Industrial Revolution.

And now, the sightseeing is famous by boats called narrow boats.

In Industrial Revolution, people took narrow boats to transport coals. This boat is so slowly enough to walk, so you can watch beautiful
view.

But there are some problems... In U.K., there are many canals, and these were made each times. So these water lebel are defferent. We must change each water level, it needs muscle power!! Although it's very tired, we must enjoy this journey.


Then a mystery hunter visited a village called "honey color" in Cotswalds.
Why do people call the village "honey color"?? Because there are many houses colored honey. Color of bricks which are used to build houses are honey color. So color of the village is honey color. It's very cute!! And these houses have beautiful garden. There are full of flowers. I'm wondering fairy live in there. The village may appear in fairy tales!!

In Cotswalds, there are many beautiful view, cute house, kind people and so on.
I wanna visit there someday.

Movie Essay ―Edward Scissorhands―

I'll write about one of my favorite movies, "Edward Scissorhands" as a movie essay.
The director of this movie is Tim Burton. He is famous as he has a very clear-cut personality. And movies he made are very fantastic and impressive.
The cast is Johnny Depp, Winona Ryder, Vincent Price and so on.
Johnny Depp usually performs in Tim's movies. For example, These are Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and so on. All of them is very interesting and personality.
And I'll write one of his movies, Edward Scissorhands.
This movie was made in 1990 so you can watch 90' America.
This movie describes an unreal world and a real world, so you can see the world of Tim is so personality.

This is a story about Edward (Johnny Depp) who doesn't have common hands.
He has Scissorhands instead of common hands. And this movie is a sad and love movie about such his love.
He was lonely in a big residence because the man (Vincent Price) who had invented Edward died.
So he was lonely, and he didn't know outside.
But a woman visited his residence as a saleswoman. And he met the human except inventor.
She took a big fancy to him, so she came home with him. But his daughter Kim (Winona Ryder) didn't like him because he was odd, and he had scissorhands.
From there, this story started.
Many problems happened. In these problems, Edward who is made by inventor became to have a heart. And he fell in love with Kim. Then, Kim was gradually charmed by him, too.
But he had no common hands. He had scissorhands. So he couldn't hug her.
In last, a big problem happened. And this problem decided his love.

The music in the movie also make me sad, and impress me.
Although this story is very sad, I feel something warm.
For this reason, this movie attract many people. So this movie is loved by many people include me.

I love Disney

I usually listen songs of Disney recently. I love Disney because Disney is very fantastic and interesting!! In Disney, I like "Alice in the wonderland" and "Little Mermaid".  And I like song of "Little Mermaid", Part of  Your World. Do you know? I have listened this song since my childhood, and I like this song very much. This song is sung by a heroin, Ariel. She wanna go to the world of human, she wanna be a human. But she is a princess of mermaid. So she must not long to go there.

In this book, there are three children, Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose.

A town they live in, there are a hotel. And a ghost has checked into the hotel, so the children try to find the ghost.

Dink usually take the lead, Josh is timid and Ruth Rose is a steady girl. They are friends.

They visit this hotel, Shangri-la hotel, and they watch something white...

There are one old village, this village is very strict. If you live in this village, you must go church every times, you must not get a divorce and more.
In such a village, one woman and one girl appeared. They are a mother and a daughter.
They visited there to open a chocolate store.
But the days when they visited are fast days. A village mayor is too strict to allow this opening chocolate store. But she doesn't mind what he says, so she opens her store.
Chocolate she makes have magical power that attract people. Fast day as there is, some people eat her chocolate. Then, after a village mayer knows this fact, he become agree for opening chocolate store.
But she is not a woman to be daunted by such a thing.
And the man appears in this village. He wanderes from town to town.
He is also hated by a village mayer because he is a vagrant, so many villager also hate him.
But a mother, daughter and some villager like him. And all of them like chocolate.
Then.... a big progrem happens!!


This is a story about Chocolat.

When she throws her rope over a woman, the woman turns into a horse!! So she goes by her horse. But horse's husband worries his wife, where she is?? And he meets Bess, then she gives her horse, his wife.
And she turns people who she meets into something. Every times, she is taught a lesson.

This book is written in plain English. This story is fun to me.

Few days ago, I went to a pet shop in Kumamoto city. The day, May 12th is my dog, May's birthday!! And on May 12th this year, she became five years old. So, I went to buy a birthday present to her(^▽^) In the shop, there were many cute pupies!! The Traditional Folk Songs of Kumamoto
I have been living in Kumamoto, and I was brought up with these songs.
If you have been living in Kumamoto, you must have listened these songs.
Although I have listened these, I don't know these well, so I'll write about the traditional folk
songs of Kumamoto.

1. Otemoyan(おてもやん)

Otemoyan is a traditional folk song of Kumamoto.
She is called Otemo (←). She is a young lady in the Meiji (明治).
This song, Otemoyan is a song for her marriage.
This is very comical and rhythmical.
Then, I translated Japanese, Otemoyan into English.

Otemoyan
"I heard that you have been married recently."
"Yes, I have been married. But my husband is a too plain-looking, so we haven't held our wedding ceremony yet. We'll be all right because there are many people, a public official of a village, a manager, ago-between. "

This is the words of Otemoyan. Although Otemo tells her husband is plain-looking, I don't think she is discouraged for her marriage. I think this song is a interesting song rather than a sad song, and I think Otemo is so comical girl!!

2. Senba-Tanuki （せんば狸）


Senba-Tanuki is one of traditional folk songs of Kumamoto. ( Tanuki means a racoon dog.)
This song is a Kemari-song. The Kemari is a sort of football by nobles in ancient Japan, so Kemari-song is sung when we play Kemari.
Senba-Tanuki songs about Kumamoto.
I think there are two people in this song, and they are talking.

"Where are you from?"
"I'm from Higo. (肥後)" ( Higo means old Kumamoto.)
"Where is Higo?" " There is Kumamoto." " Where is Kumamoto?" "There is Senba!! There are many racoon dogs in the Senba mountain."

We sing this talking on the rhythm. This is very rhythmical.
In the old days, people eat racoon dogs. Of course, some people eat them now.
I think this song means the old days. The Senba mountain actually exist, but the Senba mountain is actually a hill. This hill is in Kumamoto Daiichi high school. There are some racoon dogs now.

3. Itsuki-no-komoriuta（五木の子守唄）


Itsuki-no-komoriuta is also one of traditional folk songs of Kumamoto. Itsuki means Itsuki village in Kumamoto.
But This song is a sad lullaby.
In the past, the girl who is poor must go to find the work, so many girl works as babysitter.
This Itsuki-no-komoriuta is a sad song of girls when they works very hard.
Although this song called a lullaby, this song isn't for babies, I think.
This song is the poor girls song for herselves. This song sings her sadness and pain.



This time, I knew about traditional folk songs of Kumamoto.
I have often listened these songs, but I didn't know about these.
I studied these songs this time, I thought we must hand down from us to our sons and daughters.

I have been living in Kumamoto. If you have been living Kumamoto, you must have listened some traditional folk song of Kumamoto. So I'll write about it.

Golden Week

I enjoyed my Golden Week. In first day, I went to Nagasaki. In Nagasaki, I visited many places. For example, I visited Heiwa park, foreigner graveyard, the Urakami church and so on. And I saw beautiful night view. I enjoyed my visiting Nagasaki. I wanna visit there again!!

From the next days, I had two part jobs, so i was very busy. But I enjoyed these days. In these days, I met an old friend who has been being my best friend since I was elementary schoolchild. She is a university student majoring in music, so she is good at singing. She asked me a part job, singing part job. When I was high school student, I learned singing. This is singing in a choir, so I sung in a marriage ceremony. This job made me very nervous.

This is Johnny Depp as Sam!! He is very strange, but he has very kind mind. Joon and Sam gradually charmed each other... BUT!! Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Yo-ko. I'm from Kumamoto in Japan. I'm a KGU second-year student. Kumamoto is in Kyusyu which is situated in the southern part of Japan. In Kumamoto, Mt. Aso is very famous. Mt, Aso has caldera which is the biggest in the world. Mt. Aso is very beautiful. In addition, a grassy plain which surrounds Mt.Aso is beautiful, too. There are many spas. If you take a spa there, you'll feel happy. Aso is very popular among foreigners and Japanese. If you visit Kumamoto, please drop in at Aso. I'll guide you Aso.
